Tokyo

We spent 7 days in Tokyo. Enough time to see the most popular parks and temples and many, many shopping areas. With 40 million people, Tokyo is the largest city on the planet. Yet it’s also the safest city per capita and one of the cleanest. You almost never see trash, graffiti or homeless. There are cabs, trucks and cars everywhere but no one honks. At what is called “The Scramble”, the busiest intersection on earth, 2,000 people cross in every direction without incident. We were fortunate to be there for one the Matsuri festivals. It was sprinkling so the shrines were covered with clear plastic. The attention to detail, design and beauty was impressive. Every day was an adventure and felt like dream sequence. And the food, wow. Our excellent friends the Stouts were in Japan at the same time but we knew our itineraries were very different. Through texting we found we were both in Tokyo and decided to meet for dinner. After a REALLY confusing ramble through a large train/subway station we found each other and celebrated our amazing experiences. Can’t say enough good things about well, everything.

Loved your pictures and commentary.
It took me back to when I visited McKenna there. Such a special and beautiful country❤️
